Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his first trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
The win also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to create a decider.
He defended 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
